Position Overview
We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Area Sales Manager to lead sales efforts in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in selling laboratory consumables (plastic) and benchtop equipment, with a strong educational background in microbiology or biotechnology.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute sales plans to achieve and exceed assigned targets within the Bangalore
region. - Identify new business opportunities while fostering relationships with existing clients.
Client Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including pharmaceutical
companies, research laboratories, and academic institutions. - Conduct product demonstrations and presentations, tailoring solutions to meet customer
requirements effectively.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine strategies and
maximize sales. - Provide market feedback to the product development and marketing teams to support continuous
improvement.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and submit timely sales reports, forecasts, and territory updates.
- Analyze sales performance metrics and propose actionable insights to enhance outcomes.
Qualifications
Educational Background
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Microbiology or Biotechnology.
Experience
- 3-5 years of proven sales experience in the life sciences industry.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and building lasting customer relationships.
Skills & Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory consumables and benchtop equipment.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
